    ... you that I don't like tunnels. Not the little rocky French ones, I mean the long, smelly burrows that go for miles in places under the alps and are usually full of aggressive Italian drivers.

    But I'm not complaining about them today. Driving past Genoa on the autostrada one goes through maybe a hundred tunnels. Every one is a respite from the driving rain and the chance to sit up straight ...

    ... it is not my fault. And I asked the girls in Reception if they knew anywhere I could buy a cheap case. They said, "You could try the Chinese shop just out there and to the left." So I took a walk. There was a mid sized case for 13 Euros. "Nah," I thought... "Everything fits in what I have." So I left it. Packing up this morning, I couldn't stop thinking that 13 Euros was a very cheap case. And where would I find a case like that in Rome. ...

I get off the train just as high school students get out for lunch break and join a crowd of them in a doner shop for a sandwich shop.
