... to my hotel. Now I know why they call it LUGgage. After settling into my room, I headed out to take the "Night Watchman Tour". The tour was only an hour, but it was informative and the Watchman was humorous as well. After the tour, I went To Hell, yes that is the restaurant's name, for dinner. FYI, they serve good food in Hell. So the next time someone tells you to "go to Hell", it may very well be a good suggestion!
Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany trockieWhile going from case to case at the various German hospitals, I had the opportunity to finally see what the Autobahn was all about. Yes, there is no speed limit, but it has plenty of traffic, so it didn't prove to be the speed thrill I had imagined. We did get some RPM's revving every once-in-awhile however.<br><br ...
Bad Kissingen, Bavaria, Germany trockieWe were taken to the palace of the Prince-Bishop. It reminded me of a smaller version of Catherine's palace in St. Petersburg, where one room flows into the next, each one more opulent. <br><br>The temperature is in the 40's and windy. Prior to our trip all sources indicated it would be in the 50's and 60's. Oh well.<br><br>Last night there was dancing to the music of Sasha- a Bavarian born ...
Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany premiertravelAt Bamberg we left the Danube-Main Canal. The canal was completed in 1992 and allows ships to travel from the North Sea to the Black Sea. This connection had been dreamed of since Charlemagne tried digging one in the 8th century. Another attempt was made in the 1800s but the advent of the railroad doomed it. It took 20th century technology to make it possible. The canal itself has 34 locks out of the total of ...

Known as the Dom (pronounced dome), it was once the world’s tallest building and is arguably still the world’s greatest Gothic edifice, attracting pilgrims from all over Europe, even though it was not to be completed for another six centuries. It is still Germany’s most visited attraction. <br>

Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany dancejillSo last night was a rather sleepless night, as the Europeans we share our rooms with don't like to shower and smell like heathens. Anyway, we woke up, had breakfast and headed to meet our tour to go to Dachau. The company who runs the free tours we've been on before and talked about at length was the same company that we took this tour with today. Additionally, we got 20% off for being guests of a participating hostel, and another four euro off for being student. Cheap way ...
Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany laceymhFrom Alices Diary<br>" The day started of nice and relaxed. We didn't have breakfast until 8.30am, caught up on some washing and sat up on the deck to watch the world go by. The weather is starting to pick up and we are leaving the rain behind. At 10.30am happy hour was announced and we went down to the lounge to enjoy smoked sausages with beer and wine and so an hour later everyone was very happy ...
Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany aliceandmac... friends had breakfast with us. They cooked us some toast which was nice of them (told you they were nice people) before leaving - not without giving us their email. They offered to meet us in Poland if we happened to go there, and show us around the place! - heh! awesome... We said our goodbye's to them and they headed off. We'll decide a bit later if we're up for polland but sounds like a very kind offer. We then went off ourselves to see Resedence ...
