      ... walked to the Hip Strip where the tourist shops were selling crazily expensive stuff to the cruise passengers. $15 for a magnet!!!! Then when you find a shop that has ok prices they add commission and/or tax on to it. We wished we had spent more time in the centre exploring than on the hip strip. Doctors beach looked ok, but we did not pay the $6 to go in. The taxi driver really wanted people to go ...

      ... because we haven't done many side trips in Jamaica, but they cost so much. To leave the hotel costs you $100 minimum in a taxi, even if it's 15 minutes down the road, then you add on the tour price and tips and it comes very costly. Also, after 6 full-on weeks where we were doing something everyday, it is nice to sit around doing nothing for a change. A whole heap of Pommies turned up today and have spent all day at the swim up beer drinking. No hats, ...

      ... from lunch so we didn't have that much.

      On Saturday we took a trip into town. They took us to a flea market and we were the only ones there so we got mobbed by the shop store owners. Everyone wanted us to look in their shops which was basically the same as the next one - wood crafts, necklaces and Jamaican trinkets. We bought some souvenirs here and there to keep everyone happy.       ... eat half of it. The next day was an early one. We got up at 3:30 and caught a taxi to the airport. It was all self-service which was supposed to be quicker for booking in but it took us twice as long. We flew to Miami and the flight was running late.       ... that we get a cart. When my husband handed him a tip early he used it to get the cart! He would not leave me until I was seated in the lobby waiting for our ride. We tipped him double since he was so wonderful.
