... and there is no way you could carry enough water, nor anywhere to replenish the same! Plus I did not realize how much we had climbed coming south until we rode the downhill sections (they would be great on a push bike!). Motorized vehicles are a must in this area.

Once again we are in a container port and have to take a shuttle to the port gates. We have a tour here with patogonia shorex with 2 other couples. This time I had arranged for us all to meet before going ashore to avoid the fiasco of Pisco. We met on time but were delayed by Jim and the bathroom lol. We met our guide and driver. ... Vila and we are so thankful of getting put in here, it's really nice and great location. The house is lived in by a Chilean family and they have little vila's on the land for their guests. Once we had dropped off our luggage we headed to the supermarket for some food to cook for the next couple of days. One because in the house there was a huge kitchen we could use and two because the food here is really expensive to eat out all the time ...
