For the first time on this trip, we slept in, then enjoyed a leisurely breakfast. As a gift from the hotel, we were given buffet breakfast for each of our three days here. The buffet arrangements are lavish, complete with pastries, fresh and dried fruits, cereals, fresh squeezed juices, a tea bar, mimosas, a charcuterie bar, yogurts, omelette stations, and locally made jams. We discovered yesterday that the resort also has a kids' area called Porto Pirata, ...

... cool, so we donned fleeces whilst others had come prepared with blankets awaiting the natural spectacle. The lighthouse is the second most powerful in Europe guarding the busy shipping route between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, and has been the scene for many ferocious sea battles over the years. The main reason for the evening was to experience the sunset, along with many others who drove up as time went ...

Lagos

A travel blog entry by a.baker.abroad on Jun 21, 2015

First stop in Portugal - the beach side town of Lagos! After a big night in Marbella to finish we were a little rough driving to Lagos but the hangover was instantly gone once we arrived in beautiful town of Lagos. Aqua waters, blue skies and very welcoming hosts at the Big Chill hostel was exactly what we needed. We spent the arvo chilling on the oversized bean bags and getting to know our fellow travellers. ...
