    ... to Munich via train instead of car, so we spent the rest of sunday afternoon arranging to drop the car in Hamburg instead of Munich and then buying train tickets. All worked out well, so we stayed an extra day in Hamburg (Monday) and were able to get laundry done (whoopee!!) and go to the Miniatur Wunderland, which was pretty whoopee.

    ... them that German wings had damaged bag! To cut a long story short, John collected our other bags while Vicki did the talking, the lady was pretty cool, gave us a report and forms and told us to go to the luggage store in the terminal to get an assessment of the bag. The young lady there was very helpful, and she made a sale as we bought a replacement bag, another Samsonite, but a little bigger. Reading her report we learned a new German word, ...

    ... nice and roomy. We could hear the protests from the room which really sucked but that stopped a few hours later. The doors locked pretty good and there was a locking closet so I felt safer. We did hide our cash in my baby wipe container however. We walked outside back to the central station to exchange our dollars for euros. We hoped on a Hop-on-Hop-off City Bus tour.     ... land, then take off. The plane that has just landed then taxis to another gate and unload passengers. The airport hotel has rooms with people in them with interesting things happening in then, particularly at night. There is a lot of humour here and you have to look very carefully to pick it up, for example in the Swiss mountains there is a convent with a line of nuns walking up to it, however the last few in the line are penguins!
