          We were supposed to take the cable cars and cog wheel train to Alpspix and Zugspitz for Adrian's birthday but it snowed overnight and both mountains were covered in cloud. We had to come up with a plan B and found the very pretty town of Mittenwald was close by. The buildings in this part of Bavaria are painted with murals which is quite different to other areas.
