    ... looks worse than Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona! When they talk about a drought out west they aren’t kidding! We stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in Moses Lake, WA on Thursday night.

    ... Weather was pretty iffy most of the day but was a very scenic route. Stopped at Astoria at the Best Western - good hotel - rate $108 plus $15 for George. Was clean and relatively new.     ... restaurant on top of the hotel which is along the Columbia River. The river-walk also makes for a pleasant jog.

    Down the road on US2 is an interesting town named Leavenworth which is a Bavarian village, sadly I was not here during Oktoberfest but it looked like a great place to spend a day checking out shops and German fare.
