      Great little Inn and Suite

This was a refreshing place to check into and stay at for three nights after a bad experience at a local Days Inn in the area. Would suggest the inn for any time spent in the Bay area, would stay here again on next visit or any future travels. Could only hope that all small inns and hotels were this nice! The rooms are very comfy and clean, the owner/staff are very polite and friendly and helpful! Quiet area and cute buildings.

The hippie community in the park - large numbers of hippies have chosen to live as homeless people on the park fringe since the 1960's. The Haight area which is arty and alternative. The tour finished at 4.30pm in Union ...

      Coming to America

7/9 Coming to America It's just this small island across the pond from us but boy what an adventure getting there. I use the term adventure loosely as not quite in the same context as what huckleberry Finn went through all those years ago by the river. The day started early in Utrecht. Yes Utrecht but stay with this story. To save paragraphs of boring transport stories this is how it happened in one sentence. Train to Ajax's ...

... a jail, I guess a lot of people are interested in seeing it as I had to get tickets months ago, and the sign says the next available tour is sometime in late August. We find parking, and make our way onto the boat for the trip out into the bay to "the rock". Lindsay tells her sisters that she is pretty sure she would be OK in jail if she had to stay there which get a laugh from Lorraine and I.

Once we get on the island, we make the hike ...

      Night 22: Golden Gate

Night 22: Golden Gate From Ft. Bragg to Daly City, CA I did not keep track of today's mileage. Today's weather varied wildly. It was in the 100's and sunny along US-101 and in the low 60's and overcast in the city. There were scattered monsoon showers in the area but we only got a couple drops for a couple minutes. I'll keep it brief today if I can. We woke up at the Pomo Campground and broke camp later than we wanted to, but still earlier than the past few days. ...

Unreal how big the Highway's are. Also you are in the middle of nowhere, then there is a massive shopping centre or housing estate, in a very small area, then nothing again. Don't know where it was, up near San Francisco, there was nothing around, but it started to get very windy. Up on the hill, there was hundreds of massive energy wind mills.
We finally made it to the hotel about 9 pm. ...
