    Great little Inn and Suite

This was a refreshing place to check into and stay at for three nights after a bad experience at a local Days Inn in the area. Would suggest the inn for any time spent in the Bay area, would stay here again on next visit or any future travels. Could only hope that all small inns and hotels were this nice! The rooms are very comfy and clean, the owner/staff are very polite and friendly and helpful! Quiet area and cute buildings.

Now Los Angeles is quite a place. The weather was in the low 80"s with low humidity. Perfect. And the bus was modern with air-con and wifi. Perfect. And the roads were smooth. Perfect. And the tour guide spoke without a heavy accent. Perfect. And she was interesting and knowledgable. Perfect.

We left at 10 am and were the last to get back to the ship at 4.30 pm for a 5 pm sailing. We had been scheduled to return at 2 pm but the ...

Having taken the 'postcard' shots of the Bridge we headed back towards the city and made our way up to Twin Peaks - the two hills in the centre of the San Francisco peninsula. The Lookout atop of Twin Peaks has vista views of the city and the Bay. Expectedly, more ...

... drives and it’s easy to see why. The road is very well managed with no food outlets or commercialism. Once we got to Monterey the vistas were magnificent all the way down to Santa Barbara. Our only regret was we couldn’t spend longer. But there is so much to see and do everywhere it would have been at the expense of another area. I really wanted to see Hearst Castle the former residence of Randolph Hearst the newspaper tycoon but we arrived too ...

    Wine, scenery and gorgeousness!

    ... Coastal redwoods.
We decided to take the short hike of around one mile, and expected to have our breath taken away by these giants of nature towering in the canopy above us. However, for all of their majesty, we couldn't help but feel disappointed that this seemed that this was just a woodland walk, ten a penny in England. That being said, the trees themselves were remarkable, we just had to remember to keep looking up in order to appreciate the scale of the place and ...

    Night 22: Golden Gate

Night 22: Golden Gate From Ft. Bragg to Daly City, CA I did not keep track of today's mileage. Today's weather varied wildly. It was in the 100's and sunny along US-101 and in the low 60's and overcast in the city. There were scattered monsoon showers in the area but we only got a couple drops for a couple minutes. I'll keep it brief today if I can. We woke up at the Pomo Campground and broke camp later than we wanted to, but still earlier than the past few days. ...
