... fury like a woman looking for revenge with a credit card in the outlet mall! Three pairs of boots, one pair of sandals, 4 x Michael Kors purchases, new underwear (no not as a result of the car journey!). I just love Maidenform brand and it's expensive in the UK. I think we are quits now! Back to the pool for an afternoon of snoozing and floating by the pool, watching the hummingbirds, and enjoying the happy hour with some lovely fellow travellers. I think I've found ...

I decided these were ladies not to be messed with so kept well out of the way.

As we neared Palm Springs, we were surrounded by thousands of wind turbines on every side.
Most unattractive. This had been a pretty awful journey with all that I dislike about America: where it goes in for consumerism, it does so in a BIG way.

... I long to pack up and leave the coast in our high performance Ford Focus. After stopping to be tourists in Temecula , a small town that restored it's historic cowboy roots, we eventually made it to Palm Springs and our condo for the next week. Let's just say we were pleasantly surprised. This place is awesome! We didn't really know what we ...

... who was Italian, it was superb! The best Arrabiata Mo has tasted and my Carbonara was excellent! We are liking it here! Although we are just about one week into the trip, we are still not fully adjusted to the eight hour time difference versus the UK so we are tiring early and waking in the middle of the night - so plenty of reading (Mo's onto her third book already!) and time for me to recount our day and set out my inane, rambling ...

... time in Palm Springs ended with a visit to Ron and Lorraine Lutz's lovely winter home in a park in Palm Desert. They gave us a tour of their park and then treated us to dinner. The Lutz's have come to the Palm Springs area for several years and can hardly wait to return each year. They have made good friends and built a wonderful winter lifestyle for themselves.
