As regards our Romanian holiday we have booked our accommodation, a real mixture of smart(ish) hotels, wayside B&Bs and self catering. We have the outline of a route-around 4000 kms in total taking us over the Transalpina and the Transfagarasan via a few castles all the way to the Danube Delta on the Black Sea and back via the Iron Gate Gorge,Belgrade and Zargreb.

Well the hot weather seems to behind us and we walked in light rain yesterday and today , Not cold but not pleasant once gear gets wet. ... bit too much cloud unfortunately but glimpses occasionally. The driving is a bit hairy - roads are so narrow and windy and everyone drives pretty quickly! We saw some marmots! On the way back the kids and Nick walked up a snowy slope and tobogganed down use Nick as the toboggan! Needless to say there were some very wet and cold bottoms!
