        ... the confluence of the Rivers Neckar & Rhine. Heidelberg is also known for it's car manufacturing business. Many buildings in Heidelberg were destroyed in the 17th century war and rebuilt in the 18th century.         ... we were so glad for the breakfast after not eating much the night before. It was lovely breakfast and we had wifi. Left to catch the bus to the cable car up to Alpen Tower but you always should have a plan B. The bus we were supposed to catch stopped, dropped off people and then took off leaving us there. Ok, now wait for an hour for the next bus or go to plan B. Plan B it was and so we caught the next bus along to the train station and then train to Meiringen. ...

        ... fit for two, a quick dinner we headed to a small bar on the corner of the road… Eden bar served happy hour from 8:00-9:00pm and for a mere 3 CHF you could get a glass of champagne… although nobody stops at just one. It didn't take long for the music to be increased, shots to be served and Aussie tourists to take over serving behind the bar.

        ... city and had a wonderful pasta and pizza meal at one of the pizzarias. This was one of the best pasta I have ever had! We came back to our room and slept to get ready to go to Berne the next day, where we were going to meet Hans at 9:30am.

        ... Alps.

        With the bike parked up in an empty bicycle shed I bought my train ticket and went off for a walk. Last time I came up here was in mid June and the weather was boiling. There were motorcycles all around but for some strange reason I seem to be the only one riding two wheels these days!!

        I know it might be a little cold outside but am I the only rider left on this planet who is willing to ride out in these conditions??? Since leaving Amsterdam two days ago ...
