... overlooking the river, unfortunately the morning was very foggy which prevented us seeing some of the magnificent castles on the vineyard lined hills. We passed the legendary Loreley Rock which soars 120 metres above the waterline and it is also the name of a feminine water spirit. Our cruise ended at Obermesel, from there we drove through Bingen to Mainz the last village before entering the auto barn. From Rhineland we drove to Germany's oldest university town of Heidelberg ...

Although the week was grey, luckily the grey skies were speckled with beautiful lightly falling snow -everyday-!. I had initially thought that the snow here was much prettier than the Canadian snow, and so when Sylvie said this as well, I was glad that ...

... lived there in Faido! Dale and Nancy went with us the next day, found the place where she lived but no one was home! I left a note for her and the tour guide was going try and call! Long story, but it was really exciting to see the town and how much it had changed! We also went up to a ski area called Cari where my grandma' brother raised cattle during the summer! One of the older people who worked at the restaurant we ate, knew of Giacomo and had said ...
