... My mother's favorite picture was taken in Switzerland at a restaurant terrace. We matched up the photo to the Internet, and found it was the Hotel Edelweiss in Murren. So 10 years after she passed away, we decided to follow in her footsteps.

The town is a small. car-free town, and a lovely place. Amazing views everywhere, much like Wengen where we are staying. We had lunch in about as close as we could get to where ...

Woke up leisurely today and we packed our stuff and drove about 3 hours up to mürren - it's in the Swiss alps! Where all the ski fiends are in the winter! Our little group walked through green meadows with cows that had cowbells and we stopped at a little chalet along the way and bought alpenkasse (cheese from the cows that they make in the mountains). We saw the farmer herding his cows to higher pastures...that was impressive but we decided he needed a dog!

    We made it to ...

Today we woke up around 8 AM, had some breakfast, did some laundry and researched what to do. Turns out, as part of the campsite you get free travel on all transit. However, this only covers Interlaken, and Lauterbrunnen (first city in the valley where all the mountains and trails start) is about 20 minutes drive south. So instead, we decided to drive to where we wanted to take a gondola ride up to Schilthorn. The ...
