      Guest blogger Bill here.

Today was our first full day in Wengen. We got up at a reasonable time, had a traditional breakfast, and went looking for trouble. We took a cogwheel train down to Lauterbrunnen, to hop on our first cable car. We didn't realize it was standing room only. Woke up leisurely today and we packed our stuff and drove about 3 hours up to mürren - it's in the Swiss alps! Where all the ski fiends are in the winter! But this group of travelers has been particularly lucky...maybe it is the prayers, maybe it is the positive thinking or maybe God is just smiling on us (Don says it ...

... from the rest of our group and headed back by train to Murren...the clouds had lifted and we were certain we could take the tram to the Schilthorn! Off we went to the tram station, asked for tickets and were told that the tram was not going anywhere, there was quite the storm up top!

So, we took the alternative, the funicular about 1/3 of the way up! We had lunch in the beautiful viewing point, which had an outdoor deck and we got sunburned!
