Ausserbinn, Switzerland lesterenanne... on some prior ski trips to similar altitutdes. Perhaps it's due to the gradual acclimation via the trains, etc. However, back to the view... it was spectacular. If you enjoy mountains, it doesn't likely get much better than this. Our day was a fairly clear one as well.

When we arrived at Interlaken we then had to take an extended series of trains, lifts, buses, etc. to get to our eventual destination which was Schilthorn ...
Interlaken, Swiss Alps, Switzerland trockie... 6-10 above us and falls 1-5 below.

We came to fall number 6 first and it was amazing! These falls are literally in the middle of the mountain and have all the water from the glaciers in the surrounding mountains running through them! They twist and turn and kind of look like some kind of extreme waterslide! The water is so powerful and I have never seen such a large volume of water flowing at such and extreme pace. It was kind of scary, you definitely didn’t want to ...
Interlaken, Switzerland kimmykak... water so it was freezing cold and bright blue. Interlaken, Swiss Alps, Switzerland mrletich... much hiking that it would probably be an expensive let down if we went up. At the bottom of each lift there is a web cam that shows you what it’s like up top. Very handy for the tourists for sure!

There is a road that links this valley but for some reason you can’t drive it. We found out that Grindelwald, the town we hiked to, is accessible by road and that the road would, in fact, continue to our hotel if we were allowed to take it. I think it’s a ...
Interlaken, Swiss Alps, Switzerland marybc... it the best idea to ask someone if they new of the hostel we thought we were staying at. It was in the complete opposite direction of where we were looking. No wonder we couldn't bloody find the place. We finally found the place but they could not locate our booking. We thoughts this was a bit odd as we have not had a problem with the same on line booking service before. We had our reference number and as soon as we looked at the ...
Interlaken, Swiss Alps, Switzerland dinoshonaThis is our new format. Its Naty & Milo mixed paragraph...guess who wrote what! We finally arrived to Zurich. Defýnately Jet Lag is an understatement. We were literally knocked down... Needless to say we slept about an hour each on the plane. We watched Mission Impossible III, read the newspaper, listened to music, etc. Upon arriving to Zurich, we were walking zombies. We forced ourselves to stay awake so that we will sleep better tonight. Supposedly you are not ...
Zurich, Switzerland milverBrad, Melissa, Jamie (Melissa's friend from Oregon), and I went on a road trip to Luzerne, Switzerland. Luzerne is a cute town and we had a blast just walking around. It was really cold, but we alternated between walking around and getting coffee! I am always amazed by the towns of Europe.
Luzerne, Switzerland worldcup... to get to the bathroom, but now we had to ask for the combination? We had to trek back down the stairs and ask for the code with a series of gestures. Swiss Parliment The Swiss Parliment is an extremely interesting building. It is called the "Federal Palace" by the Swiss. It was constructed in the late 1800s, and finally being inaugurated in 1902. The building was designed by a French architect named Auer. The two main chambers of the building (where the two ...
Berne, Switzerland spitfyre... seen commuter trains shooting across a bridge spanning the autobahn so I decided to follow the tracks toward the city until I found a station. Around 8am, 10 hours after Operation Nightrider began, I said goodbye to Fabio from Milano and hello to 50 points and a new attitude toward hitching at night.
