Brought brekky this morning at the Cologne railway station because we discovered they have lovely yogurt and muesli. Then we went shopping. I bought a pair of German shoes, made in Hamburg, for $52! Rosanne bought a very comfortable pair of new season shoes for a little more. While we were in the hotel lounge this morning we overheard a group of Brits on a coach tour being corralled into where they needed to go by their super efficient tour guide and made a ...

... the past as well as the modern. It was probably all the rage back in the day. It was nice weather, the best we've had so far so we walked along the esplanade. Its two huge spires give it the largest fašade of any church in the world. The choir has the largest height to width ratio, 3.6:1, of any medieval church. The construction of this Gothic masterpiece began ...

... spirit of the holidays. Where to first?  With bags still in hand?  Why to the Weihnachtsmarket am Koln Dom (the Christmas market located directly next to the cathedral) for a wurst, of course!  Oh, how I'd missed Germany! An hour later, we were settled into our Air B&B accommodations and back out to breathe in the cold air and bask in the glow of the Rudolphmarkt, which was located only a block away.  Well, maybe it was the gluhwein that brought ...
