With a day off in Frankfurt before we pick up the motor home for our European adventure, we took the opportunity to visit my nephew Marcus, his wife Hanna and son Matts. Marcus works for Barclays Bank in Frankfurt, and lives in Darmstadt. We had a pleasant day, catching up with Marcus and family, and Hannah's family who we had met at their wedding in December 2013.

... ordered my usual hot chocolate. So far the traffic had been rather busy but somehow I had a feeling it was going to get much worse and sure enough it did.

While sitting here drinking my chocolate the satnav said we would arrive at the hotel at 15h35 but that was never going to happen with the traffic ahead.

... So we put up the tree and decorated it with ornaments and candles (which to a paranoid American seemed totally wrong... Lighting candles?! On a flammable tree??! And there are two young, rambunctious boys running around by it?!?! AND YOU'RE SURE THE HOUSE ISN'T GONNA EXPLODE?!?!?!) ... usual passengers bags to be unloaded because said passenger had checked in but not boarded (international flight - what international flight?) we were winging away to Changi International, Singapore.
