    ... tiring. There was tons and tons of people, it looked like more than 105 but it wasn't. I swimmed freestyle. I wanted to do breastroke but it was too much for me. I got a team shirt and a cap.

    ... for a walking tour of a very pretty Innsbruck (our hotel is in the center of town). While we obviously enjoyed the sights of Italy, it was great to be in the mountains again and see Bavarian (in this case Tyrolean) architecture.

    We were supposed to take the cable cars and cog wheel train to Alpspix and Zugspitz for Adrian's birthday but it snowed overnight and both mountains were covered in cloud. We had to come up with a plan B and found the very pretty town of Mittenwald was close by. The buildings in this part of Bavaria are painted with murals which is quite different to other areas.     ... fast ride up the gondola took us high up the mountain where we could explore from. I wasn't really prepared for the altitude or hiking in the leather boots, jeans and the light cardigan I had down in the village, but I should know by now to always be prepared for a short "walk". The views, I seriously will never tire of the the amazing views. It has been great sharing this with Michael's parents - I know they are pretty amazed with the Austrian countryside.
