... of Leopoldskroner. The "konzert" took place high above that however. After dinner, and climbing an indeterminable number of stairs to the top of the fortress we were treated to a gorgeous setting for the most incredible chamber music and sunset over Salzburg. What a night. Note regarding GPS and Wifi: In June, our district gave us an info sheet via email about using Airplane mode and Wifi when travelling to avoid hidden charges. It has worked like a charm. I discovered ...

... the end of that boat ride. It was so. And it was lovely. Reminded me of when I was in Bangkok a number of years ago, and was also staying at a much more lowly hotel accommodation, and found it a must to eat at the Oriental Hotel now and then! Not that mine now is quite in the same category, yet it is not Hotel Sacher. I had to take pictures - it was magnificent. Fancy suited me, I thought! Hahaha! ... jacket potato (€4.90) & hubby opted for a €5 salad. When they came we burst out laughing because they were both amazing: his salad was HUGE, the plate more than a foot across and completely full of salad, and my potato with sour cream dip was nestled inside a large foil swan! They were extremely tasty too, far more than the "snack" we’d been expecting.

The tour itself was great, ...

Something strange happened this morning: it was raining. Quite heavily. But undaunted, we loaded up Red outside the front door of the Hilton Hotel and went on our way. Staying at the Hilton had been a pure indulgence on my part, and I was disappointed that I was not transported back to the Burgerbrau even in my dreams. We were more disappointed by the Hilton experience: it was a soulless place and a bland room.
