      ... a train from Wengen up to Wengernalp (1873 m) and followed the very pretty path through forest and meadows to Stalden where the real decent begins. Then followed a mostly enjoyable but pretty hard hike for most of the way, but for the rest unnerving and sometimes downright terrifying would be more appropriate.

      Today was designed to be a relaxing day, to recover from 3 strenuous cycling days while doing some hiking in the nearby mountains.       ... down the gravel path, dumped it onto the top bunk and made my way to the showers. These were in quite good condition with each separate cubicle/shower having it's own light. The water temperature was warm enough but it was one of those push on showers that only lasted a minute or so before you had to push it on again which made showering and washing your hair a much longer task than normal.

      ... you can catch trains even earlier (6.05!). Not that I was a slouch, as you'd expect getting trains/lifts at 8.25 or 8.45 to start off the week. But not wanting to be toatally outdone, Wednesday Thursday I had to get out first! And caught trains at 8.03!
