I've been here seven days and I'm really hanging out for a steak. The food has been fantastic, cordon bleu as it is the top restaurant in Wengen. But I've had enough of pigeon, quail, venison, etc. so the chef volunteers to do a beautifully cooked entrecote. Wow, it was great; it really pays to be nice to the kitchen staff!!
... the Lager chair, followed by the Gummi chair and then the Arven chair, to get us to Kleine Scheidegg. None of the BMW sponsored activities were working but we went down the Arven red to look at the speed gun. Great fun for those of us wanting to speed down the hill. After this we went to the restaurant at the top of the Arven chairlift for lunch.
Lunch was much needed and Ruth and I had a great vegetable soup served in a hollowed out bread roll.
Our first class train trip from Paris to Zurich was a very comfortable experience, with lunch and a drink thrown in for free. In fact all of the rail journeys we've taken on this trip have been great, except for the overnight Thello from Venice to Paris which was an adventure in a very cramped space. Would hate to see what second class travellers get, based on our experience of the supposed first class Thello rooms. ...
