... share a couple of small glasses of wine. We got a glass of red and a glass of white to sample. It was actually a very romantic lunch. We talked about the five different cheeses and how much we enjoyed each of them with both wines.

From there we were driving out of this little village and ran into a herd of cows being herded by several men and women in Lederhousen. All the ...

Today we left the buzz of the city and throngs of tourists behind and headed for the hills. Five hours later we settled in a lovely little town high in the alpine with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains and valley below. And yes, the water was ...

Wonderful Wildspitze

Thursday 28 August

Moved on this morning, up the Pitztal valley, just south
of Imst. Went up to the Pitztal glacier, taking the Glacier Express(tunnel

skies and no wind.

Staying near Jerzens tonight. Had a great evening meal at
the campsite restaurant ...

the last two and tried to get a photo from the chairlift, failing miserably. We
decided to call it a day as we were getting quite cold and ...

A Grumpy Old Man....and some great scenery

A travel blog entry by rolandandlinda on Aug 24, 2014

... Rather a sleepless night as the fridge refused to fire on
gas (we took a no-electric option, to keep costs down, as the 0.7euros per
KW-hr is iniquitous). We assume that this is either due to a. Altitude (we are
1,822m) or b. outside temperature (we are around 8 Deg C in the evening, falling
to 4 Deg C during the night). Had to shut the fridge down completely and then
ask for a power connection at 8am. Got the fridge to fire on LPG ...
