Walked to the train station and did an expedition to the supermarket to spend our last Swiss Francs as we are back to Euros in Austria. Had a stopover in Zurich for a while and then caught the train to Innsbruck. Again this was a scenic trip over the mountains and it started snowing and was very deep as we got higher- just beautiful scenery. Innsbruck is surrounded by mountains, all of which had snow on them.

All in all I was very impressed with
Innsbruck and the Austrians. Everyone I met was very nice and wiling to help me
if they were able to understand English.
Not only do the women love the outdoors and adventures as much as the
men, the majority of them are very attractive. At one point I saw a woman
downhill mountain biking and get about 10 feet of air off a jump. I must say a
pretty impressive feat!

From the top of the tower you can see the town and the nearby surrounding mountains. The ski jump from the Olympics is easily visible, even on a wet, foggy morning like today.

We could see a cathedral from the tower so once we were back down on the ground we decided to go see it up close. Unfortunately along the way were numerous tourist shops all selling basically the same ...

This is my second sooty photo, taken about a month ago in sunny Innsbruck. Even though it was the 2nd day of summer (th photo is about a month old now) there was still snow on the peaks (which i was told was really rare), and it even snowed a bit whilst i was up there. Sadly, I dont remember much about Austria. Too bad because I have read so much about it lately as the music and art centre of Europe in the 1700s, I'd love to check that out.
I asked my dad recently if we had been there before. He said, 'oh yes, many times, we loved it'. Hmm, what a pity. I suppose it still counts because the images of scenery must be in my mind somewhere... curse this short memory of mine!
