I haven't posted in a few days because not that much has happened to write about. On Friday we were going to go skiing but we needed to do some laundry first since places close on weekends. So we headed into Salzburg and found a laundrette which was surprisingly nice and modern. We used the 'wash and dry in one' thing and went for a walk around town while it washed. We found a shopping centre and there was a bridge over the river which had an ...

The snow showers became heavier throughout the day so that a walk around the village after dinner with snow falling was another highlight. This made it even more difficult for us to leave this fantastic place. Around 9.30am, we left for Venice, and ...

... learnt to make pizza shapes (snow plow) but it was all in German. Alex loved it but Samantha was a little hesitant. We then ventured over to Alpendorf to ski as there was not enough snow at Werfenweg. We had a couple of small runs and Alex demonstrated that he had little control. We then had a lovely home cooked meal. Today, we went back to Alpendorf to ski again. The others ventured into Salzburg. We organised a lesson for Alex ...

... The autobahn followed the railway and much is on road cantilevered out from the hill, with a few really high bridges over the valley. Most impressive construction achievements. Efficiency all went belly up once we crossed the border into Italy as we sat at the first rail station for about 30 minutes for no apparent reason. No announcements, so were about 30 minutes late to Verona. Once out of the mountains the valleys opened out and were full of grape vines. The closer ...
