Now begins the descent, and i am not looking forward to this as i have some leg pains from yesterdays hiking. I manage to make it down without and mishaps, but my shin muscles are killing me. This is situated at the top of the Kehlsteinstrasse from where Hitler could enjoy a dominant position overlooking a stupendous panorama over an area that was, in effect, a Nazi playground. Our visit began with a ride on a specially designed bus that took us to the road's end. This was about a 7 km trip that took 7 minutes and climbed over 700m up the ...

... us at Mirabel Gardens back in Salzburg, where several scenes of the Sound of Music were filmed including Do-Re-Me around the horse fountain, and up the steps which they used as a musical scale. There is also the garden of dwarfs, also featured on the film and the arched pathway that they all ran through. I guess you need to be a Sound of Music fan to truly appreciate how prominently these gardens featured in the film!!
