... sun. All types were enjoying local singing along the shores of the Rio Tigre, playing fubol in the street or simply laying back and enjoying one another.

We strolled up and down the banks of Rio Tigre in search of our favorite lunch special - empanadas! Donīt be fooled by the sounds of a river stroll... the water was quite dirty, yet the experience was quite enjoyable.

After returning from Tigre to Buenos Aires, we met up with our friends from CHR Buenos ...

... went to the hip Palermo SoHo area. The area is young and alternative and showed us a less traditional side to the city. We wandered through Palermo Hollywood onto Puerto Madero which is a modern port; their equivalent of Canary Wharf. Friday night was spent again at Lulaīs where we chatted until the wee hours of the morning having shared a free kilo of Freddo ice cream! mmm!

Saturday morning we packed our bags and boarded the bus for our 17 hour trip to Puerto Madryn...

... in the plaza. Actually, the palm trees were the equivalent of those high rise condos that I see in Buenos Aires--I saw at least four different species in each tree. But the parrots were the coolest. And the racket they made! Oh...quick note to Heike. San Isidro was the only sign I saw in Buenos Aires of Urban Planning--with an arrangement of 1) the train station, and 2) a shopping center mostly oriented for tourists and 3) the nearby cathedral ...

Our cab driver a couple nights later pointed this out as the not nice part of town. Whoops...D- in map reading for Karen. I did discover that Mendoza will be remembered as the city of trenches (used for drainage). The trenches you will see in my pictures are the ...

... had the most beautiful tango dancer - a great strategy! The best part of the meal was the tango show - or more accurately, the best part of the show was Ileana, the stunning female dancer! She had that perfect combination of girl-next-door cute and stunning hottie that is so common in Spain. I think they were married - all I can say is Hector is a VERY lucky man! The dancing was actually also quite good, though not as ...

Kedze to bolo v uzkej ulicke poriadne sa to navokol ozivalo. To co bolo na tom celom najzaujimavejsie bolo to, ze ani ochrankari pod ktorymi nohami petardy vybuchovali ani okoloiduci nemali z nicoho velky stres. Vsetci presli okolo a pohoda. Proste iny kraj - iny mrav.

Worst black jack players ever

... In Argentina things work better, Argentina is much cleaner and while this is nice it also simultaneously sucks because I can`t laugh at all the stupid **** because there just isn`t as much of it. Go to casino and the pit boss tells me poker won`t be up until 3. Damn, I have a couple hours. I decide to sit down and play some black jack and the first thing I get told is that I can`t wear a hat, I can`t buy checks from the dealer and when I finally ...

... fresh fava beans, one of his favorite food-groups)(Rafi believes that he's not generally prone to superlatives). While we had access to multiple guidebooks (Lonely Planet, Timeout, Fodors, etc.) the best guide to restaurants in BA we found was the blog Saltshaker - it's a great blog run by Dan Perlman, a BA transplant from NY, wine expert, chef, foodie etc - a really helpful resource for visitors to BA.
