... one day that my GPS was activated on the map that I had preloaded when I had Wifi. This has been hit and miss since - but loading what you need in a Wifi zone should do the trick. I was planning to get a SIM card over here for my old phone, but if I can hit so many Wifi zones I can have access otherwise. It has been easy to do that. Lots of places are open as part of their service. Even Cafe Sacher. :) (I might have had their Wifi and lunch, but... I am saving Sachertorte for Vienna...) ...

... half an hour passed and the rain got heavier still, it was literally pouring. With my poncho I had managed to keep my upper body dry but my pants were wet and they stuck to me. I had just gotten to the halfway point at that time. I was keen to keep walking but the rain showed no sign of easing. If I was to keep walking in this downpour, my poncho would not be able to keep me dry for much longer. The halfway point offered alternative transport I ...

... to miss out on Slovenia, but it would not have been enjoyable at 5am after an all night train ride and now I shall just have to plan to go back. So now we had an extra 6 hours in Salzburg before our next train departed. We put our bags into one of the lockers at the train station and returned to Old Town to see how much coffee we could drink and Wi-fi we could find to sort out and book the next few stages of our plans into Croatia. After a ...
