    ... version, has only 13k's on the clock when we picked it up. Back to Chamonix and we popped down to watch the Climbing World Cup. We were drinking a beer, sitting in the square and life was pretty grand. Check out the guy hanging on the Zlagboard. This was attracting all the macho-men.     ... of aluminium foil to wrap it all. The waitresses didn't seem to mind so we grabbed a couple of rolls and chocolatines for our picnic. This was doubly handy as we hadn't managed to buy any snacks the previous evening, due to the 'Eight 8' contravening the trades descriptions act (or EU equivalent) by closing at 7:45pm.

    ... Helen and I had a couple of hours skiing while John did some snow shoeing with Charlie. Poor Charlie didn't enjoy this too much which restricted John's outing. It was just minus 5 degrees on the ski slopes so we needed to be rugged up.

    For me it was a very satisfying day; I really enjoyed both the spectacular scenery and the physical challenge.

    ... Air and did a bit more walking around as the afternoon went on. We were hoping that the clouds from the storms would blow over and we would actually be able to see the Alps from the city. We never did see the Alps but we did find a hill where there were several people spending the afternoon. There seemed to be grates in the grass that emitted warm air that several people were sleeping on. We spent time on a park bench looking over the city and the lake ...
