    ... off. You wouldn't get anywhere fast doing this all of the time. Also on a bike you feel that you are more vulnerable to being hit by other traffic if you just pull up to take photo's.

    Just north of Trento the good clear sunny weather turned to cloud and then to heavy rain. It bucketed it down.

    It was our intention to head for Verona which at this point was still around ...

    ... to see some cows along the way - who had
    comendeered the road, and took their time getting out of our way. There is a huge memorial at the top - which is beautiful and poignant and quite moving. It was very sad to read all the names of such young young guys. Only a fraction of names though as that
    mountain saw 27,000 <--- not a typo....of soldiers die up there. It
    was super sad and just such a waste....

    ... from Franco....We were on tour again...with F & P as guides up to the top of the Cengio Mountain... An historical spot where during World War1, the Italian and Austrian soldiers were in hand to hand combat as they had run out of ammunition ....and we're thrown down the cliffs....We walked the narrow cliff path and through tunnels along the edge...quite emotional to say the least.     Friday 22 August Left Venice for Calazo via train with 2 changes on the way. It was nice to sit back and enjoy the countryside and villages along the way. We arrived at Hotel Ferrovia a day before the gAdventures scheduled meeting 5:30 the next day. This gave us time to check out the Supermarket and local shops. Saturday 23 August With all day to fill in until 5:30 we hired bikes, caught the Bike Bus from Calalzo to Cimabanche and rode 52 Kms in pouring rain back ...
