Lake Bohinj is a larger, less touristy mountain lake near here. We saw it on a cloudy day last time, and hoped to see it in the sun on this trip. We understand that if it is cloudy at Lake Bled it is much more cloudy at Lake Bohinj, and there are very low clouds here, ...

... a short walk to admire the views The river was crystal clear. We also saw the statue dedicated to the four men who, in 1778, climbed Mt. Triglav the highest peak (9396 feet) in Slovenia. We then went to a museum dedicated to the shepherd's existence in the alps region. Had various kinds of locally produced cheese with blueberry brandy at a little eating area by ...

... centre than a castle. The place did however have an interesting history, having been used as a prison for several hundred years, including the WW2 period when it was used for Italian and British political prisoners, among others. The view over the city was, as you’d expect, pretty good too. I can’t remember exactly what I did for the rest of the afternoon, but it can’t have been very interesting as Ljubljana didn’t really leave much of an impression on ...
