We started the day with a run through the mountains. It was wet and muddy, lots of autumn leaves on the track, and some beautiful waterfalls along the way. After checking the weather forecast and some grocery shopping we hit the road to Bled in Slovenia. We arrived at the campsite. Their last guests for the season! They close tomorrow. We're the only ones here. We found a spot for Percy and he ...

... the rest of us were on lunch, so we were actually able to eat together.

Another gloomy forecast for the weather today. What to do? The Julian Alps were out, too cloudy, as was Lake Bohinj, also too cloudy. So we decided to try to visit the old historic part of Ljubljana. If it was raining, we could always duck into a store or coffee house.

So Cheryl drove, as Mark was by this time tired. Our first impressions of the city were not ...

We took the free shuttle after bidding good bye to that lady guide from the German tour .The return journey was also by bus instead of train and we reached LJ in the late afternoon with enough time for us to have an early dinner and roam around this city. We had dinner at Druga Violina (came to know of it from our hostel and ...

          ... as a handsome face.

After slithering back down from the castle, we headed off for the Slovenian National Museum as I had read there was a good exhibition of local Roman remains and Squirt is a big fan of Romans. The collection was interesting, but the thing I got most excited about in the museum was a flute made from an animal bone by a Neanderthal man, sixty thousand years ago. That's pretty amazing.

After the museum I owed Squirt some running around time, ...

... noticed a bright light suspended from the sky down towards the river. It almost resembled a moon, so I went to have a look. As I approached the area, I found film trucks and a full crew and it appears that a movie or commercial is being shot. The cast appears to be a bunch of students, all wearing blue shirts and waving blue banners. A crew member was operating a smoke generator to provide the desired effect. I wasn’t sure what it was all about, but it was rather exciting to watch.
