... Lake to the final leg of the journey on a bus to Puerto Varas where I will stay two nights before heading to Santiago to fly home. This lake is a little more choppy than the previous two which were very tranquill, its a large lake and as we proceed up the lake there are two very impressive snow capped conical volcanoes on the right side of the boat, Mount Osorno and Mount Puntiagudo. Many Argentinians travel here on their holidays as there is loads to do, from hiking, cycling, rafting, sitting in the many chocolate shops or trying out local beer and many more. I had lunch ...

... to get excited about two weeks of driving and camping through Patagonia - a place I have dreamed about visiting ever since my teens when I discovered it was real and knew where it was. However, it was really cold. We steadily froze in our tent as I remembered the saying, "There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes." And we definitely had the wrong clothes, and sleeping bags. Sat in the UK, planning 5-6 months of travelling, we were bound to be ill-equipped ...
