I am so far behind with this blog. Partly, it's because we have traveled every single month during 2009. There's so much to tell & show that unless I write every week, I'm always several trips behind. The other problem is ...
Naples, Campania, Italy amboughOla Kala: simply, OK (in Greek). No time for lots of flap.....we're on the go. The Vatican Museums await us (and we can hardly wait to do more walking!). Enjoy the pictures and we'll fill you in on the adventure next time I make the time to sit and gab.
We're still having a grand time!!!!!

Saturday went to the Sotterranea catacombs and the ancient Greek Roman theatre ruins, Walked up to Castle Elmo for my panorama shot of Naples and the sea.
Sunday caught the train out to Pompei which was ginormous!
I think we only saw about half of the ruins, but saw some really amazing stuff.
Pity we couldn't get into the large arena as it was blocked off and looked really impressive from what we could see from the outside.
... in a bakery to buy bread for lunch. I wasn't going to go inside but Giovanni motioned me to follow him in the shop and I soon understood why: the smell of warm home made bread was almost intoxicating. None of that plain white squared bread but rather irregularly shaped and thick, bubbly and coarse; what bread should be without the chemicals they put in it to make it soft and white. What we noticed were that every 5 ...
Atessa, Italy zento... It's the type of experience that I doubt will be possible in twenty years. Seeing the modern world intertwined with history was really a blast. I took a picture of someone driving there Lincoln right past the remains of an ancient temple (I don't think they were supposed to do this but no one was around to say stop). I loved visiting this site, but was a little sad as this would be our last ruin of the trip. After finding some refreshments ...
Parco National Abruzzo, Saepinum, and the coast, Italy shiandgabe... t get a cabin but when I went up top and saw the 'deck' seating, where all the rest of the backpackers were, I did not feel so bad. It was cold and damp, the floors were soaking wet and the only seating was uncomfortable-looking plastic benches. I wondered if I would have lasted outdoors like this all throughout the night, especially after hearing the wind howling outside from the comfort of my airseat! Our first stop was Corfu at 5am, followed soon after by ...
