    ... The day was very hot - 30C at 8am and probably close to 40C in the afternoon. As a result, we did not have the clearest views of Etna.     ... the bottom people wade though the water, some bathing, some standing under the waterfalls coming off the cliffs, others just relaxing along the edges of the river and the pools of water that formed in the bottom of the gorge. The water was definitely refreshing given that it was quite cool and air temps were in the mid 30's when we were there.

    Up in decent time but took our time over coffee and breakfast and getting organized. Hiked up to the castle quite hight above town .. which was a good hike in itself with some great views of the coast as well as the town... and then down slightly and up a whole lot more to the small town of Castemola that sits above Taormina.
