    The Best...

    • Hotel - Lexington Springhill Suites: best room layout and behind the hotel, unbeknownst to us, was the Red Mile Race Track (very cool).
    • Breakfast - Lexington Springhill Suites: regular Marriott breakfast, but for some reason it was better here.

    ... to get the car we wanted with our reservation, but ended up with a larger car and a lower price! Thank you Costco Travel!

    Logan came home and we visited with him. For dinner we met my friends, Tammie, Karen and Patty for dinner at Ledo's. Logan braved the situation and joined all of us ladies.

    ... carousel. Still, at least they showed up.

    The brisk air outside the terminal was a bit of a surprise, and sent us all looking for our jackets. The short taxi ride home was uneventful, and it was around 7:15 pm by the time we got everything inside. We each headed for a shower and it was almost a race to see who could get into bed first.

    ... the pills two weeks ago...). We had two hours in Chicago before our connection to Washington DC. Our first stop was at Garrett to buy some Chicago style popcorn as a snack on our next flight. We were introduced to Garrett last year by chance while in Singapore and were very excited to see one in the airport as we were transferring between terminals.     Over the course of the week Marc takes me on a tour of D.C's monuments: Lincoln sitting proudly on his marble throne, countless war memorials and the White House before we check out a couple of the Smithsonian museums...I could easily spend a whole day in each! We visit the National Zoo: No baby pandas for us but we get to meet a delightful orang utan who insists on chewing up his food then regurgitating it all over the window ...
