... things. The meal was similar to yesterday 's but tastier and cheaper; $18. From there we caught the metro in pursuit of the art museum. We found the former but not the latter. Another metro station and we could get back to the hotel where we had the packs. Very new metro system with hardly any people at all and lots of nice things to look at. ... few water fountains and finally found one to sit by whilst we ate our lunch. It was really nice to see children and couples playing in the water, as this is something I've rarely seen in my 4 years in Hong Kong.

After the cable car ride I headed to Republika Alangy which has a modern underground shopping centre. Almaty is a nice city with a relaxed European feel to it which has enough to do for a dayif travelling onto somewhere else.
