Tiwi, Coast, Kenya miles1... He was so dirty, but his angelic face defined his sweet presence.

Although hot, the Indian Ocean breeze carried a gentle cooling mist which comforted us as we continued along the beach.. But what seemed like a dream only moments before became a shock to our bodies as pelting beads of cold rain were thrust upon our bodies. We begged the "camel master" to turn around - to go back so we could run for cover!
<br ...
Mombasa, Coast, Kenya matanyashope... a bit of old and a bit of new... I just wonder what this place will be like in two year's time, if, as many suspect, Civil War or some other political situation hasn't taken place - will there be change, I doubt it very much - someone said to me the other day what are we educating our children for when there is hardly any employment; let alone a decent amount to survive comfortably on, you educate the kids, their expectations grow, the demands on the Country grows and then what???

Mombasa, Kenya michelle02... mess and realized WE HAD BEEN INVADED. A quick look around showed that all our cameras were still there so it couldn't have been a thief of the usual kind, it had been the monkeys. They (or perhaps it was one monkey working alone?) literally took everything out of my bag and it was strewn across our hut. They had taken my glasses out the case and tried them on... threw them under the bed. Used the wet wipes, left little tiny dirty finger prints on everything. They ...

Sorry to leave you hanging after my last blog attempt...and for all the typo's! I ran out of time to finish it but didn't mean to post it. I just re-read what I wrote and found a ...

Mombasa, Kenya gez_skip... and he was sweating profusely while studying his book and continuously fiddling with two mobile phones, sending SMS's and regularly swapping sim cards. I dozed off and woke from a nightmare in which I was Harrison Ford, saving the day. I had grabbed 'the terrorist's' phone and threw it out the window before he could hit the send button, which would have triggered the 'bomb'. I figured he had sat in front for easy access and wasn't prepared to ...
Mombassa, Kenya dcm... it took close on an hour to get everything and everyone on and off the boat. That evening I met more volunteers on holiday, from Botswana and Chad, who worked for the Peace Corps. Also, and unfortunately, there was a bunch of typical Afrikaans Boere, who were horribly ******. They told me they weren't drinking Castle Lager any longer and were now on the hard tack, Brandewyn - Met Uys! (Brandy on the rocks). During the day in Dar, while inside a taxi in traffic, we ...

He then handed everything back with a shrug and said, "It's only a domestic flight, why worry?" I carry a chef's knife with me.
