... proprietor. The mains were gourmet size but the food was vey good and, best of all, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Doug had ordered Carpaccio de Bouef (ultra thinnly shaved raw beef laid in a spiral on a plate and topped with shaved Parmesan). I had warned him it would be a cold salad type meal. Anyway, he scoffed it down in a second and the lady proprietor asked the waiter to bring him another plate. Is this an "all you can eat" Carpaccio de Bouef? Then, to top ...
Day 4. Only done 280 miles. Lol. At this rate we'll only reach Bordeaux by the end of our hols. Best get our foot down. Trouble is.. We're so laid back and every where is so nice. 14.40 hrs arrived at our hotel in the city of Nantes. What a rush everything feels after being in the countryside. We get away a bit after 9am. It's foggy this morning and ...
... trucks were having a break. Only one toll ticket for 3.5 hours and as we got near Nantes we came off to go to the lovely town of Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu we had to pay €51.50 for our days work.
The drive North was ever changing because very soon we had left the vineyards behind and soon encountered huge fields of barley many already cut and straw baled and removed more with combine harvester parked up ready to roll.
