Jason decided to watch villa on the internet instead of going to local french soccer game. they lost 2-1, maybe its better if he doesn't watch as they seemed to do better the last few games when he wasn't watching. Had a really good dinner tonight, regional specialty (crepes again) with apple cider.

Anyway, 2 north African guys were then met by the aforementioned large men and rapidly whisked away in front of our eyes before they could have said (in French) "Jack Robinson". I think it was perfectly legit. As long as my hairdresser car boot has remained unbroken, I'll be happy. I will know in the morning.

Football-wise, Villa are still unbeaten since I left. Blackburn tomorrow!! Jamie is tremendously excited!!

... and monsters on display. They all have the style of a Jules Verne story (he came from Nantes). The craftmanship is wonderful and the detail is incredible. We will return in 2014 as they are building an enormous tree with plants and a ride on mechanical herons. Much better than Disney.

We are going south tomorrow to La Rochelle.

... up at 8am and drive 5hrs to Bordeaux for our 2pm tour of Château Mouton Phillippe Rothschild. Since this will be a 4hr drive there, 2-3hr tour and 4hr drive back we decide to cancel the trip. Now we can sleep in the next day and get up and chill for the day.

That is basically all we do in Nantes get some decent food and see a movie. Off to Mount Saint Michael tomorrow and we are kind of excited to see if it lives up to the photographs we have seen.

Cas and I had Tuesday afternoons off to write lesson plans together, but now that Cas is leaving, Valerie (my tutor) was really worried that I would not be able to do it. She tried setting up a time for us to meet so that we could write them together. I told her not to worry and that I could do it myself. I've been writing lesson plans for a long time now. She also thought I was 25, and she felt really bad ...

It was so amazingly freezing that I thought I was going to die. Plus the heater didn't work and it's still not working. I think they wait until a certain time before they turn on the heat but it was so crazy. Then my shower wasn't working (I couldn't get the hot water to come on). I was about to die. I was so cold and all I wanted was a hot shower ...

Nantes is a very beautiful city. There don't seem to be lots of things to tempt tourists (a chateau and several museums of fine art, natural history, archaeology, and the like), but as a place to live, it's great. I remember hearing it was rated the best city in France as far as quality of life goes, and I believe it. My host family, the Bodets, are great - very animated, lively, friendly, and just generally good, down-to-earth people ...
