    I knew as soon as I saw the website for the school on Margarita Island it was the place for me! Despite the political unrest and the recession here in Venezuela my purpose is still clear and the possibilities are endless....at the very least I can obtain online students who will pay me in US dollars that can be exchanged at a rate of about 175 Venezuelan Bolivars ...

    ... He seemed to know also exactly where the birds would be and took us to a white Heron who fishing on one of the little islands and to a blue Heron who patiently posed for us while we took photos. They must be used to tourists and were not perturbed by us clicking away. Ashore we spotted an iguana and lots of little crabs making their way out of the mangrove.     ... know if it keeps underemployed sailmakers in business or they just recycle them from decommissioned boats?! Pleasant beach, but nothing to write a blog about!

    While waiting for a taxi back, got a lift from Almando, a friendly parejo (sarong) salesman and parttime guide, back to Playa la Galera, a lovely protected crescent of sand really good for swimming as no waves. Nabbed another palm tree to enjoy ...

    It’s in a good location, 10 seconds to the sea, and the upstairs walkway to the rooms has sea views.     The beach proper, though, was well maintained, the water reasonably clear, with
    even a few fish visible when swimming!
