Whilst the fabric of the hostel isn't the best, the service and general bonhomie from the people running it makes it a special place indeed.

Can understand why locals enjoy this area and fair play to town/event organisers in this area, they really know how to cater to every age group and interest.
... dawn. Town is asleep until after noon with some people still wandering home. Its hosts Balaton sound (electronic music festival http://nagyonbalaton.hu/balatonvilagos/ ) each year which was on when we were here. Probably the closet equiv to Ibiza but a lot more affordable and with lots of children activities for families. They have tried to make the shoreline like a beach and they have done a good job of it.
... went to ( Siofok - the "best" town) you can't even get to the edge of the lake. You are restricted to a road selling fast food about 80 meters from the water and the town on the other side of the railway line. Behind the fast food places there are private areas run by the hotels for guests that have access to the water.
