Bonjour everyone,

Well, got to admit despite all the buildings and museums some of the best moments in Paris were sitting down on our bums doing nothing. At Sacre Coeur with the crowd and buskers whilst the sun set was just priceless.
The old market square in Montmartre near the Sacre Coeur, the Eiffel tower at night, along with the …

Day 01: Paris

Landed in Paris in the morning, and immediately faced the language barrier trying to figure out how to reach Hotel Allegro from the Airport.
There were cabs, which were charging exorbitant rates and while we were at it, we also figured out, that we need some kind of an unlimited travel pass for the Metros / Buses in the …

France - Eiffel Tower

... GA. It's funny how we traveled all this way to run into people so close to our home.

After the sun went down the Eiffel Tower lit up. There was also a light display on the tower (see the video). Unfortunately we didn't have time to ride to the top of the tower. Our time was limited in Paris so maybe the next time we'll have a better idea of the things we want to see and ...

I heart Paris? Apparently.

... instead of having to take a whole seperate train back to Landstuhl!
Sooo yep! In a large nutshell, that was our paris experience! I really loved it there, and even though some people were rude, for the most part, people were very friendly and approaching! I would love to go back and see more of France, which is interesting because it was a place I didn't want to see originally.
Oh! Our EuroRail didn't get checked on the way there so we have a free day! Any suggestions where we should go? ...

    Hotel Allegro (Paris) Review

    Reviewed May 20, 2011

    Pros:
    - Very close to the Metro station.
    - Stone throw away from a Super Market.
    - Elevator (Which are not to be found in many places in Europe)
    - Rooms were not that great, but were decent, clean with AC, TV, Free Wi-fi, Telephone.
    - Bathrooms were clean and with all latest facilities.
    - Very nice breakfast, standard, but with warm breads and other vegetarian options.

    Cons:
    - Hallways to the rooms were not lighted enough.

Overall a decent hotel for a short stay if visiting for tourism purpose, when all that you need at the end of a tiring day is a nice bed to sleep, AC and some nice early morning breakfast.
