A New Experience at Konigsallee

... at Zum Schiffchen and sat in a nice table near the window. The waiter gave us our menus and we were in awe at the amount of choices we had. We all decided that we would order a big plate of the steak tartare. It was a lump of raw meat, with egg yolk, chili pepper, and a few slices of anchovies. It tasted absolutely incredible and was surely able to hold us down for the rest of our trip.

Well that did not according to plan

... finally make it I to the apartment at about 8. Luckily I learnt from our last trip to keep supplies handy so instead of needing to go late at night looking for milk etc I was able to unpack my emergency long life milk, pasta and tin of tomatoes to prepare dinner whilst others showered and we were at least able to eat by 9. On the plus side, the apartment is two blocks from the Cathedral and is a very nice penthouse. Thank you Baden Powell. ...

Very early bus ride to Marksburg Castle so we were first in before it opened to the public. But it was worth the early start to explore a real castle built close to 900 years ago. Some of it was set up how it would have been, we had to climb narrow little stairs and walk over very uneven ground but what a great time, they had a room of torture instruments, glad they were only used back then.
