Last stop in France

After brekkie it was onto Menton which is a lovely little town just before the Italian border. Menton is a much more down to earth place than its neighbours and more our scene. We found a park right on the beach and went for a wander and took in sum much needed sun. Next stop Italia!!
Not the full monte

... and not campervan parking friendly. We found a picture perfect stop just after Monte Carlo at the top of a hill overlooking the Med. We had the place to ourselves so we russelled up some brekkie in the sun which was lovely, so much so we were in t-shirts!!!

Gorges Verdon... Route Napoleon

Gorgeous morning and a stunning place for breakfast awaited us just outside Scooby overlooking the lake. I went for a run but Kim was feeling a little under the weather so she stayed and made me breakfast - yay! We spotted two girls about our age and attempted to engage in some conversation but their English was limited and French is rubbish. Shame as its manily been the grey hair brigade we ...

France: Ooh la la

... but without the superstars.

Back to the senses: France smells good and tastes good too! Le Marches (the markets) occur everyday where fresh flowers, bread, fruits, vegetable and fish are sold daily. This is the way of life here; no supermarkets or walmart, just good fresh food, purchased daily.

The food here in France could be the best... the flavors and savors or french cuisine, rival all of our other meals in all of the countries we visited. Fresh food ...

Antibes and St-Tropez

... Sailboats were docked at the marina (knez, it made me think of you). Diane ordered mussles and Jon and I had our first mussels ever. They were delicious. Thank you Diane for helping me discover my love for sea food. St-Tropez was further than we thought, but thank god we ...

Princess Lesia of Monaco !

It's uncertain whether the schedules of Prince Albert or Princess Caroline will allow for a meeting with Princess Lesia but our respective public relations staff are working on it!

The tour of Monaco-Ville, also known as Old Monaco included a walk through the narrow streets that once ...

Month 2!

... of loud and rumbly and smelled like exhaust, but still fun? (trying to be positive...I actually didn't enjoy it). After, Craig, Marissa, Tara and I went to Ladurée and bought some macarons (different from macaroOns). Supposedly, they are so good that they make women faint. They were as good as could be, but I didn't understand the fainting thing. Oh well. We then went to a café where I had a tasty salad and then walked through some gardens we found near by and a market ...

Jean

We met an old friend of My travel buddies here for breakfast here an interesting character. We went for a swim after, it was a beautiful beach along the edge of Cannes. Then we made of Jean's house, a friend of ours, where we stay in his farm house apartment for three days. thanks Jean.

holiday season in Cannes

... now that it's semi-cold, all the restaurants have moved their seating inside and the smoke just lingers. Yes there are supposed to be smoking and non-smoking sections, but I've noticed that law just sort of fell by the wayside. Besides the smoke, going out for dinner is an adventure in and of itself. The group walks by place after place, scanning the menu for plates that are less than 20 euro but still looks inviting. Let me tell you, economical restaurants are hard to come by in ...

Monaco, Nice Cannes

... in Nice and a lot of beaches. Instead of sand there were rocks, so flip flops are a must. I ended up only really seeing a restaurant in Nice though, with Melissa and some other girls. The restaurant was nice though. We sat on the patio outside and there were palm trees and tropical plants everywhere. Nice seemed like a really big city and I would like to go back there one day definitely. You could have stayed in town and walked back, but Melissa and I both didn't want ...
