... our guide from the college, took a ferry to one of the islands off the coast of Cannes, St. Marguerite, to meet up with the catamaran. When we got to the catamaran, the captain greeted us as if we were really important, and told us there were some snacks in the cabin if we wanted. ... encouragement to get out of Nice (though it's lovely, I have been here for a few days and have covered a lot of ground), but it also threw a wrench in what had been a week-long debate about what to do for this weekend. I had a quick breakfast, threw my bag in the luggage room, and jumped on a computer to check out options. Unfortunately, internet was out in the hostel and they were waiting for a technician. ... celebrities. We had found the final awards night red carpet, not such an impressive achievement considering there was massive amounts of security and people. It was there where we stood and waited in the rain watching the big screen to see who people were and then looking at what we could see of the red carpet (not much) to catch glimpses of them in real life.
