Week 2 in Dijon

... walking for a long time while we were waiting for the hospice de Beaune to open.
The hospice was very beautiful. It use to be a place for the sick a very very long time ago and they had a little bed and a place for their clothes. There was also a chapel where they could go to pray. We also saw the old room for the kitchen and pharmacy, there was also a separate area for the nobels when they were sick because they were rich they got ...

Luxembourg Baby....

... he returned from outside and removed the coats. American frat boys stories. The most decedant Eclairs ever.

Then onto a Salsa club with much dancing and knocking people out the way. A very naughty trouble maker.
Quotes:
'How will you cope with the white men dancing?' Jamie

The final club where Jamie and I managed to distroy over 30 glasses with a miss timed spin.

Happy Thanksgiving

... to see Ashley and have Thanksgiving with her and her husband. Another one of my good friends, Jessica Cavazos's, younger sister happened to be in the area so she came out for the event as well. I'm not sure that her original plan included coming to Luxembourg (or Belgium which is the country that I'm actually in although I can see the border from the window) but when she arrived in Paris last week she immediately fell down a flight of stairs and broke ...

School's in session (again)

Well this week i started school. Which makes it feel like i have never left school because i have only had a couple of weeks holidays in Australia (not even). But i am just relieved that i do not have to worry about doing anything during class or any of the homework or exams =) So i can still feel relaxed.
Marie walks to and from school everyday and it is about a 20 minute walk through old small streets. The school is very beautiful and ...

Crumball Rally Day 2 - Boulogne to Auxerre, France

... who happened to know a graffiti artist, so he painted their car for them, and it looked fantastic, as you'll see in my photos.

Included in our challenges for the day was a task to take a picture of a V1 flying bomb from World War Two. We were given a hint that there was one in the foyer of La Coupole, a base which was built by the Germans in World War Two to fire V2 rockets at London, so we drove there (via the wrong museum outside of St Omer ...

Sojourn en Champagne

We've had a couple of days exploring the "Route Touristique du Champagne" in the department of Aube in the southern Champagne region. Our accommodation here is a Logis de France hotel called 'Hostellerie de la Chaumière', where we have demi-pension (bed, breakfast and dinner each day). It's highly rated as a gourmand restaurant so the food's great (though sometime the quantities are over the top!). Naturally, the local ...

We have stopped for Flunch in St. Dizier

We have stopped for Flunch in St. Dizier after 2 and a half hours and 90 miles of hell. Every gust of wind, corner or oncoming juggernaut drains your strength and hurts your muscles. But it's stopped raining now and the fields of sunflowers still look beautiful :-)

Happy Bastille Day from France!

... Roger, Perrier-Jouet, Mercier are just a few other names on this street. Veuve is from Reims so not in Epernay. Our campsite is directly in Epernay so we have a ridiculous view of the vineyards right along the Marne river, they actually encircle us, and were a great place to watch fireworks last night as the country celebrated Bastille Day (cant believe you knew that on the phone dad! good work) We just came here to the internet kiosk after a free tasting at the tourist ...

VERDUN

... no buses to the battlefield. having already rented bikes to tour Normandy, we looked for a place to do the same. well, we looked everywhere, and finally, one shop owner told us that there were absolutely NO places that rented any sort of vehicle in Verdun..we decided to hang out in town for the night and to take a taxi the next day to battlefield. they next day, June 24, we woke up, bought some bread, and found a taxi to take us to the battlefield. we ...
