... Fontainebleau.
We were supposed to meet back at the bus at 12:30. Guess where I was at 12:30... in the gift shop, picking out some postcards... Our group definitely has issues with being on time. Oh well, I was not the last one back to the bus just so you know!
The second chateau we visited was Vaux-le-Vicompte. This was a private chateau, no kings ever lived at the chateau, but they did stay from time to time. Once ...
... my ginormous suitcase wouldn't even fit down the aisle :-( I looked like a fool and then had to hoist it up top and it sat precariously above my head. Thinking i will take mum's advice and buy a smaller case and send this one home with some souvenirs inside. The Eurostar seats are tiny...u sit in little cubicles with your legs touching the person's across. Someone like a Nortier would hate this. Seriously, it was worse than any plane trip i have had, including the ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France travellingross... like some of the things Alex and mom eat, I try them.
I went to the bakery by myself a lot.
I looked at the art that Hannah picked out for me. Lots of war art at the big museum.
I said a special prayer at the big church too!! Notre Dame
I really like the trains a lot . We will go on a lot of them because we have passes. By for now.
... we were quite at home in a campsite full of lovely chatty people.
Isn't it amazing how some things turn out?
We had such a great evening. We met Christelle from Paris, who spoke English very well and her two gorgeous children. Christelle's Mum was a delight and plied us with gifts - a bottle of wine, cheeses and homemade rhubarb marmalade. Thank you so much for making us feel welcome we so enjoyed your company.
Joan of Arc was born at Domrémy, France January6 1412. Citing a mandate from God to drive the English out of France, she was eventually given an escort to bring her before Charles of Ponthieu (later known as King Charles VII).After ...

Melun, Île-de-France, France ddlangolais... of many French paintings throughout the centuries. After Barbizon we drove a short while to Vaux le Vicomte which is yet another chateau. It seems in France each chateau has to have some sort of gimick to make it stand out from all the others. At Vaux le Vicomte the gimick was that at sunset they lit candles all over the garden and inside the chateau to imitate the lighting from the 17th century when the castle was built. It was actually a ...
Mitte, et me sealt mitmekümne euroseid šokolaade oleks soovinud osta! Cappuccino vahukoorega läks õigesse kohta see-eest.
Montargis, Centre, France pille... significant. We were just content with looking around. Despite the disapproval of everyone else, I decided that I wanted to go to Mcdonalds for a beer. I thought it was pretty cool since we dont' have beer at Mcdonalds at home. Everyone else just thought it was a waste of time. Once we were done with the Champs Elysees, we walked through some of the parks trying to find somewhere to get dinner. The parks were a real quiet oasis amidst all of the urban noise and chaos. Since we ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France royv1The next day and the day after we had a good exercise walking over 2 kilometers to the subway station (and then back in the afternoon). Then it is about 30 minutes by subway from Torcy to Paris. Like most people before us we were immediately impressed by what we saw in the city. While certain pieces of architecture may not look so great close up, the overall effect is great. The Eiffel tower appears to be little more than ...
