We rolled into Adelaide at 7.10 am sightly ahead of schedule. It was a bright sunny day, 10 C when we disembarked and later a high of 19C. The forecast is for 24C over the next few days so the good weather continues to follow us around. We caught a taxi that took us to our hotel, the Adina right in the heart of Adelaide.

Did I mention “The Big Fella” Michael Collins is buried there too, “Hang up your brightest colours” this is a great documentary on Collins a nice wee intro to early Irish History...interesting fact: the "population" of Glasnevin is 1.5million which is a lot more than Dublin,no wonder it’s called “The Dead Centre of Dublin”.

... Chas picked an Italian restaurant called Pasta Rustica and we sat out front on the sidewalk. My caprese and Lingunie Carbonara was very good and of course, way too much to eat. The others said their dinners were very good too. Good choice Chas!

Then we caught the tram again and went back to our hotel to pack and get ready for an early start the next morning. Tomorrow is our flight to Adelaide.

... amazing and we arrived at our spot to plant a gum tree. The red ones were slightly less durable than the blue ones (I think). So I planted my first tree! As a family we have decided to make family holidays a priority. So far we've averaged from 1 night at kuipto forrest to 10 days at West Beach, and many times and places in between. But when asked by our good friends to join them on an adventure through the middle of Australia, through some caravan parks but a lot of "real" bush camping on a 6 week trek, it was a challenge we were keen to give a go!!!
