After loading up the car, we met up at the cafe next to the pub from the night before, and received our challnges for the day. The first was to follow a series of arrows on the footpaths (a sort of tourist trail) and write down certain numbers on the plaques next to certain landmarks on the way. We started at around number 30, and an hour later got to number 60...and in that time we had only found one of the numbers we were searching for (out of 16 required!) so we boldly decided that this wa...

... within. It's hard for me not to imagine that the candles are symbolic of all of the lights within all of us at Taize and beyond. We each have a light within and we lean, round shouldered on one another.

Chaintre, Burgundy, France brandclothing1Five months in France!!!!! We decided to celebrate with a visit from Jon's brother Steve and his wife Anne. We showed them the sights of Lyon and hiked through the Beaujolis. Jon and I are becoming big fans of hiking in the Beaujolis. It is a very short drive from Ecully. It also gives Sizemore a chance to run around off of her leash. Enjoy the pictures!
Oingt, France moyerfamily... miss them. "I think my week there, while not as meditative as I had hoped, was beneficial - living so simply: Morning prayer, breakfast, work (cleaning toilets for me most days), midday prayer, lunch, meetings/discussion groups, snack, workshop/seminar, dinner, evening prayer, bed. I was sleeping in a "barrak" - a tiny little room, walls totally filled by the 3 sets of bunk beds. The matress ...
Macon, Burgundy, France mapoirat... there was no point as everything was closed. We did meander through a lovely produce store with lovely cheeses and olives and foie gras. But there is absolutemently no point in buying food on this cruise. We set sail at noon, headed for Trevoux and a 3pm excursion to a Beaujolais winery. In the newspaper, my horoscope for work-money was that these issues were too big for me to deal with, and for health, I should isolate myself to ...
Macon, Burgundy, France voyager-sueWe went to Cluny almost every day. It is 12km away from Taize. The best way to reach tere wes hiking. That was the first time in my life to do that. It is beatiful and typical French vilage. It is something between city and vilageand it has very rich history. There was a swiming pool, a supermarket, Caffee de Paris, and other things that we needed. But also it was very beautifull town, so sometimes we went there just to take a walk and hang around.
