... to Bali, so why we needed 2 hour wait I have no idea.I must admit I had a wee panic imagining my bags in Melbourne while I arrived in Bali.
Escher and Khailana were dead tired by the time they arrivedin Mebourne. Escher pretended to be wide awake but his eys gave him away!!....Khailana however has my weak constitution, and felt sick. She slept, tucked up under a blanky for most of the visit.
We had a lovely ...
... a distance though.
We liked Melbounre-it is alot quiter we heard than Sydney and is very green so reminded us alot of home as opposed to burnt out areas in the north from the heat. The weather in Melbourne was also alot like home im afraid-cold and dark one minute, and the next hot and bright.
Was a cool place to visit but we were now looking forward to renting a car again the next day and heading off for 2 days on the Great Ocean Road!!
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia verenao... who don't know me I am ridiculously avoidant of hot and humid weather. Why I travel to tropical climates is unknown even to me). I think I'm going to miss the weather. Hopefully the weather holds out when I'm overseas and I don't hit any typhoons, on radar it looks like there are two that are about to hit Taiwan in the next few days.
So I'm heading off to the airport now, if anything interesting happens on the plane I'll write about it in Singapore ... unless ...
... 2 weeks, and that building up the required muscles will come in time.
On that note, I have now had 3 archery lessons, and have an extremely sore shoulder as a result. My instructor seems to be a strange combination of Fabio and Mr. Miagi - ‘Shoot at this line for the whole hour. Just this line. Nothing else.’ Reminds me of the ‘wax on, wax off’ recitations in the Karate Kid. But then he keeps calling me ‘baby’ or ‘ ...
... show and a tour of Flagstaff Hill. the next day we traveled along the road to Tower hill and took in the nature walk around an extinct volcanoe and then lunch at Port Fairy at a very old pub. In Portland we took in the war memorial tower and then wasted away the rest of the day on the Cape Bridgewater walk. Marsha took the long way around, about 6 km, while I returned the same way that we came to pick up the car and meet her. Taking ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia holleykm... plans did not work out but he was glad he did not miss this stop. We got to: feed kangaroos; hold a baby wombat; see scrappy but healthy Tasmanian Devils; tiger snakes; parrots; koalas moving; an aechidna. It was great!!! Not to be forgotten was our lunch stop for pancakes (crepes) at Elephant's Pass. We have included photos of their Aussie humour. March 10 Perfect weather- sunny, blue sky - spectacular beach scenery along the whole coastline- called the Bay of Fires because early ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia mljholton... to the house to "intercept" Pete. Reason?? To see if he had fled the scene or been under the influence.... Sadly for them, they found us patiently and innocently waiting on the side of the freeway waiting for a tow-truck. The car's radiator was leaking and overheating and we could not get home. So upon arrival no cordial or friendly "hellos" or "are you ok?" But immediately a breathalyzer kit is produced and some accusing questions asked ... speak about paranoid!! It was as ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia kingsandems... As we had been out all day, we both ended up with the top bunks. We didn't see much of the other two girls who had the bottom bunks. This obviously brought out my 'Dad' jokes about 'being on top of another woman all night' and 'didn't even know her name or what she looked like'! Lorna just yawned at me and asked me to try and refrain from f@rting all night!! Classy! To end the evening we went to ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia vickersontourTonight, the Millennium (the ship we are sailing on) was docked in Melbourne. We headed down to Port Melbourne at sunset to have a look, and anticipate one week's time when we would be docked in Melbourne on the cruise. On the way home we stopped by the Southern Star to have a look. We're hoping it will be open when we dock in Melbourne, so that we can take a ride.
