... I was struck by how unlike my life this was at every point.

We took the train out to Versailles from our local metro station, which took about 40 minutes. For a palace that was built to get away from Paris, it is now so easily reached. The lines were not too bad for Parisian attractions, we got to the head of our line in roughly 20 minutes! Which was great, except we were in the wrong line. Found a wonderful cafe that Kathy had been to before and in order had French Onion Soup, a French toast sandwich filled with ham and a fried egg on top, trench fries and to top it all off Creme Brulee! Of course! We had ...

... quick bite to eat but it turned into a lengthy meal. I think it was because the restaurant ran out of hamburger buns (we saw the bartender walk in with buns while we were waiting).

After lunch it was time for the afternoon of shopping. We had planned to go to this giant department store/mall so Brooke could shop for dresses. On the way we stopped in at one store and she tried on 4 dresses. A couple didn’t really work but there was one black dress that looked promising. ...
