... the only ones here. I do like company when we are in the bush. Me? Afraid? Never!!! (Well, maybe a little bit!!!) We heard from our friends Jo and Ray that they have gone back to Melbourne for a week before Ray is due back in Adelaide for his treatment. You never know, we might do a quick trip down there to see them again as we are pretty much biding our time waiting for the ferry date. I'll have to spend tomorrow with the maps and see where we might go ...
After a worrying night of wind, wandering around Swan Hill was a pleasant break. From here to Echuca, the paddocks were lush with crops and endless infrastructure of canals and locks of water. Christie's Beach near Echuca is another bush camp on the Murray River. Stabbing in the camp behind us and gale force winds, kept us on our toes all night.
The Port of Echuca was an interesting tourist experience and catch up on the necessities of life. ...

Tuesday was another quite warm day and we had a lazy morning. The kids were on their bikes a lot, it was not that busy yet so they were able to ride wherever they liked.

Down on the docks, paddle steamers were moored, some taking passengers and heading off along the river. Nearby were two thriving thong trees. The day was overcast with a thunderstorm predicted so unfortunately the photos are very dark.

We found the Holden Museum and thought we'd visit it today but of course we couldn't find it again could we. This was after we'd done a walking tour around the wharf and old town which took much longer than expected ...
