Yesterday evening (Monday) was a mixture of good, bad and odd.
The "good" was the Alladin show which was absolutely terrific. It was a version of the Disney cartoon and it ripped along brilliantly, and some of the special effects were jaw droppingly clever, particularly the magic carpet ride. The audience was, as you'd expect, made up of families, and bored, writhing, screaming kids spoilt it a bit, but many of those were torn out of the theatre by their parents leaving us ...
... good - curry chicken with steamed peanut rice (steamed brown rice and peanuts) and a peanut pig tail soup. I don't even know what the local food is but this seemed quite authentic. This back street alley type of restaurant was even on "Back Street".
We did try the local guava berry rum which when made into a coconut guava colada was very delicious. If I was going straight home, I would ...

Like a little Jack Russell terrier after a rabbit, he tore round the back of the organiser’s tent emerging all flustered a short while later in a reasonable short woman’s dress and floppy hat. His outfit looked okay until you suddenly realised in his semi drunken state he’d forgotten to put on any pants! Too late! He was on stage. So as desperately as he could tried to hide his modesty. Occasionally without much success. Hope you like ...
... be having if you ate one of those back then. “Not sure,” I said, but in for a penny... in for a pound and guess what.... they were fine. Nothing in them at all. Absolutely normal. A good experience, and one I’ve not had since my teens, (even the singing of Hari Krishna), but I’m not sure I want to go back there! To that time again.

We had thunder and lightning, we had floods, we had to toss for whoever was going to make the beer run to the nearest bar and come back completely soaked because we just could not wait any longer. Or wrap up the computer in plastic while we ran to the nearest restaurant on the way home from the lobby to grab a bite to eat before they closed.
