Jenga Queens

A travel blog entry by zoeandlaura2015 on Jun 08, 2015

... We met our dorm mates who were all really nice and bonded with a group of lads from shrewsbury. We spent the day topping up our tan and then enjoyed a lively night of beer pong, jenga and fire shows. After a sleepless night (our dorm was right next to the bar and the base literally vibrated through the whole room) we had booked a tour to visit other small islands. We boarded a boat with about 20 ...

... up and said she wanted to back towards the boat.   Thomas was knackered and decided to stay on board but was great keeping us updated where we all were when we got closer to the boat. The ride home was quick and bumpy but both kids fell asleep with their heads bobbing around. The ride there was like a clip out of fast and furious, only the race cars were minivans! There were loads of them all going to the same ferry port! We got there, had a sticker slapped on us and told that we were on big boat number three, we had to climb over the other two to get to ours! We ...

... to the hotel - there are no roads whatsoever in Phi Phi. We checked in and decided to take a stroll down to the beach only to find the tide very far out with plenty of rocks obstructing our path to the water. Therefore instead of chilling on the beach for a few hours we decided we'd climb hundreds of steps up to the island's viewpoint. Phi Phi was devastated by the huge tsunami on Boxing Day 2004 where around 4,000, of the 10,000 people on the island at the time, died and 70% of ...

... is very small, and finding anywhere with air con (so hot!). That night we had sat on the beach drinking rum and watching the world go by. Our time in Phi Phi was short but we really enjoyed it. The next day we had breakfast with Josh and Danielle and said our goodbyes before getting our boat to Koh Lanta. It was a short ride to Koh Lanta, followed by 5 minutes in a tuk tuk to our hostel. Koh Lanta is very different from Phi Phi. It's much bigger, more remote and ...
