... and high fived them and then ran off to tell their friends. In Yogya it wasn't very different, except this time everyone wanted a photo with us. It was cool to talk to white people, even though we were a more common commodity. At a Luwak cafe one girl told me that I look just like Liddia, an Indonesian actress, and that they were all talking about me. I wonder if I'll make the tabloids. We've had the "where are you from" question thrown at us thousands of times, and if you reply ...

... them to look for a hotel or something, because those are easiest enough to find but they're not always super cheap. It was crazy to think they'd just shown up to Bandung to backpack through, having no idea what they were in store for. They were expecting Bandung to be some small hick town and were surprised when we told them it was the 2nd or 3rd largest city in Java, possibly of Indonesia.

Well, that was pretty much our weekend. Kyle slept the rest of Sunday ...

... there because there was just no opportunities....maybe I have just grown too artsy over the years who knows.

It was during my time in jogja that my sister had flown to Arizona to be with my mom. I talked to her on the phone nightly and was told that she had improved a bit and may be able to breathe on her own shortly. It was all very surreal to be on this sort of adventure vacation during the day and then get updates on my dying mothers condition ...
